  2. There was a time when my son and I had to live in a hotel for a while after losing my job and home. It was a very embarrassing time for me because I had lots of family in the city around me but nobody offered us their homes. That gave the illusion that it was something “wrong” with me. I know people secretly wondered why my family didn’t help me at this time but I pushed on. We eventually moved to another state and started over again but the stigma of it all still lingers with me to this day.
